Our dog enrichment program provides individual attention, playtime, and activities that help reduce the stress of shelter life. The program has grown to include Reading to Rescues, where children read to shelter dogs and cats.

About Dog Enrichment and Reading to Rescues

As we searched for more enrichment opportunities, we began taking dogs on field trips for activities like dock diving and visits to an indoor canine enrichment center, helping them build confidence and enjoy new experiences. Since its inception in 2022, the reading program has had hundreds of children participate, whether by individual appointments with a parent or as part of a Scout group visit to the shelter. Thanks to our volunteers and your donations, we are able to enrich the lives of the animals in our care until they find their permanent home.
